Responsibilities

This position will require working independently much of the time, while cooperating with, and consulting with others on the technical and marketing staff via phone and e-mail. The primary focus of this position will be development on Artifex®'s PDF interpreter. Since this interpreter is based on the Ghostscript® graphics library, support and development design will require in depth knowledge of many areas of the graphics library, which will be learned by individual study of the source code and documentation as well as by consultation with other developers. It is expected that effort will be approximately 80% development and 20% in sales support. During the initial learning period, there maybe more time on support tasks.

Also, since Artifex is a small, efficient organization, it is expected that this engineer will participate in business development discussions, contributing from his or her experience and perspective to the improvement of our products and the growth of the company.
